YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — On Sept. 15, 2019, Young Harris College will welcome Emily Carella to serve as the director of admissions. In this role, Carella will build and develop the admissions team and implement new strategies to grow enrollment.
“It is with great excitement that I’m joining Young Harris College,” said Carella. “YHC is grounded in tradition and well respected throughout the higher education system, and I am proud to be selected to serve this team. Already, in a short time, I feel supported by the administration. I believe we can work collaboratively to increase student enrollment and the overall student experience. Carella comes to YHC from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, North Carolina, where she served as director of undergraduate admissions for seven years. She has worked in higher education enrollment for a total of 14 years. Carella’s experience building relationships across campus to strengthen recruitment efforts and managing the admissions team will be valuable assets.
“Emily is an experienced admissions professional with a strong record of success working at a small, private college in the region,” said Provost Dr. Jason A. Pierce. “The Office of Admissions and I are excited to welcome her to the Young Harris community. We look forward to working with her.”
