Whether your primary program of study is rooted in education, fine arts, mathematics and science, the humanities, or the social and behavioral sciences, a minor in dance will give you insight into the nature of performance and expression and its impact on human interactions.

Students who minor in dance are prepared for performance with core offerings such as ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance. Additionally, courses are offered in world and regional (Appalachian) dance, as well as Broadway styles and choreography. The minor is designed to allow students to choose either a broad spectrum of courses, or concentrate on just one or two specific styles.

Opportunities to perform on stage as a dancer abound at YHC through Theatre Young Harris’ Mainstage and Studio Series shows and Musical Theatre Cabarets that take place each semester. Each season offers a minimum of four performances featuring choreography.

Join in the vibrant life of our dance program, express your creative side and enrich your primary program of study. Whether you are interested in heading to Broadway or simply dancing for the sheer joy of dancing, our instructors are lifelong teachers and professionals, and will help you reach your goals.
