Professor Moore has been a member of the English faculty at YHC since 1963. A published poet, her work has appeared in more than fifty journals and periodicals, including The Georgia Review, Prairie Schooner, Southern Humanities Review, Southern Poetry Review, and The Journal of the American Medical Association. Her poems are included in over a dozen anthologies, such as The Bedford Introduction to Literature, The Bedford Introduction to Poetry, and Women Writing in Appalachia. She has published a collection of poetry called Teaching the Robins. She teaches creative writing with a particular interest in poetry. Her special areas of interest include contemporary poetry and Southern literature.

After retiring in 2013, Professor Moore was named Emeritus Associate Professor of English. She currently teaches at the College as an adjunct instructor in the English department.

Professor Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from LaGrange College, a Master of Arts degree from Auburn University. She has also studied at The University of Virginia, Emory University, Georgia State University, and North Georgia College and University.
