Shaughan A. Keaton (Ph.D., Louisiana State University; M.A. and B.A., University of Central Florida) has degrees in communication science and English, specializing in social psychology and sport communication, listener goals and communicator styles, and intergenerational/intercultural communication. Broadly, his research profile can be described as interpersonal interaction and cognition and various aspects of intercultural interaction. He has taught 13 academic courses over a span of 10 years at five different colleges and universities, including courses on ethics and psychology, communication theory, interpersonal, family, and relational communication, public speaking and research methods. His recent publications include an upcoming book titled, “The Influence of Communication in Physiology and Health,” and several articles, including “Identity formation, identity strength, and self-categorization as predictors of affective and psychological outcomes: A model reflecting sport team fans’ responses to highlights and lowlights of a college football season” for the journal, Communication & Sport.
