Steve Morgan joined the staff of Young Harris College in 2005. In addition to serving as planetarium director, he also teaches the college's astronomy classes and labs. He is a past recipient of both the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award and the Ezra Sellers Award for Outstanding Commitment to the Students of Young Harris College.

Steve earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a graduate student, he worked at the university's Morehead Planetarium and was awarded the Morehead Fellowship in Planetarium Administration & Education.

With more than 25 years experience in the planetarium/astronomy field, he has also worked at Gibbes Planetarium in Columbia, SC, Schiele Planetarium in Gastonia, NC, and Roper Mountain Science Center in Greenville, SC.

Concurrent with those positions, he also taught college courses at the University of South Carolina-Upstate, Belmont Abbey College, and the Science PLUS Teacher Institute through Furman University.
