Business & Public Policy

We believe you should aspire to goals others may think unattainable. Whether that’s helping grow the family business or starting your own nonprofit organization, you’ll need to know the basics of commerce as well as government regulations that affect it.  This innovative program combines traditional business courses with courses in ethics and in public policy formulation and analysis.

The business and public policy major offers three distinctive tracks: economics, management and public policy.

As business and public policy increasingly overlap, YHC is one of the first colleges in the country to offer this hybrid degree that strives to understand how to gain power as well as how to use it. Our program produces effective leaders and adaptable critical thinkers with integrity and strong communication skills.

We want you to explore, experience and accomplish everything you’d expect at college—plus a few things you’ve never thought of before. In many cases, Young Harris College places graduates in internships for real-world experience. In your senior seminar you’ll research and present a topic—another invaluable résumé-builder not common in traditional business programs.

With a strong foundation in business and public policy, you can go anywhere and do anything. Your skills will be advantageous and enviable working in politics, finance, law, marketing, operations, education, research, strategic planning and public affairs.
