Meet Local Students

Cherokee County

Daniel Johnson
Senior chemistry major

“Thanks to my local scholarship, I will be able to complete my undergraduate education debt-free. Local scholarships made it possible for YHC to offer me more financial aid than any other school which encouraged my decision to attend. Thanks to YHC, I am prepared to pursue a career as a medical doctor where I hope to return and serve the people in this area.”

Pickens County

Blake Wilson
Sophomore theatre major

“When looking for colleges, YHC was a standout place. However, one of my worries was how to afford tuition. My local scholarship allowed me to attend a fantastic school and alleviate the financial burden.”

Towns County

Alejandro Lemus-Gomez
Freshman English major

“YHC has given me the resources I need in order to pursue my goals. The financial aid office helped me explore the opportunities to earn the local scholarships I currently have. It is truly reassuring to know that my community is so willing to help see their youth strive for excellence.”

Rabun  County

Molly Vinson
Freshman English major with education certification

“Local scholarships have made it possible for me to attend YHC and pursue my goals of being a collegiate athlete and an English teacher. Without the support of my scholarship I would not be where I am today and I am truly thankful to those who made my future with YHC possible.”

Union County

Lauren Gray
Senior business and public policy major

“Thanks to the support of my local community, I have been truly blessed by not only receiving substantial financial assistance and a quality education, but I have also gained lasting relationships and confidence to further pursue my goals. I would like to express my gratitude to those who have so generously provided me with this opportunity.”

Gilmer County

Jacob Bennett

“Without the local scholarship I received, I would not have been able to attend YHC. This scholarship allowed me to pursue my aspirations from Young Harris and beyond. I am truly thankful.”

Clay County

Jakob Elliott

“Cost is always a major factor when it comes to choosing a college. Without the local scholarship I received, I would not be able to pursue my passion in the mountains that I love.”

Fannin County

Chloe Cook

“Cost played a major role for me when it came to picking a college. Thanks to the local scholarships I received, I was able to make the choice to come to YHC and further my studies in music.
