Library Policies

Anyone may use the Zell & Shirley Miller Library materials inside the library building. YHC students, faculty and staff use their College-issued ID card to check out material. Community privileges are extended to persons living in Towns, Union and Fannin counties in Georgia and to Clay and Cherokee counties in North Carolina. Certain restrictions apply to different types of users. One renewal is allowed per check-out term.

FACULTY   

Loan Periods: Unlimited books until April 15 each year; AV and CDs: 2 weeks
Restrictions: 2 popular titles at one time

CURRENT STUDENTS

Loan Periods: Unlimited books: 4 weeks; Popular titles and DVDs: 1 week   
Restrictions: 2 popular titles at one time; 3 DVDs at one time; Reserve materials must be used in the building

YHC STAFF

Loan Periods: Unlimited books: 4 weeks; Popular titles and DVDs: 1 week
Restrictions: 2 Popular titles at one time; 3 DVDs at one time

COMMUNITY   

*Computers are available to community users as space allows. This service ends at 6 p.m. daily or at library closing, whichever is earlier.
Loan Periods: 3 books at a time for up to 4 weeks
Restrictions: Popular titles, DVDs and CDs are restricted to use inside the Zell & Shirley Miller Library only

Non-Circulating Materials

In order to facilitate access by all users, reference books, periodical subscriptions and archives and Special Collections materials do not circulate without special permission.
