Student Conduct and Community Standards
The mission of the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards (OSCCS) is to foster student learning, development and success by enforcing the College’s standards of conduct and community expectations. Through proactive student programming, intentional student interactions and educational sanctions, OSCCS encourages personal accountability, integrity, and ethical conduct. OSCCS utilizes a fair and efficient disciplinary system that ensures students’ fundamental rights are both honored and preserved. Throughout the conduct process, students are given an opportunity to assess the attitudes and/or behaviors that may be counterproductive to maintaining a safe environment that is conducive to learning.
Students who participate in the student conduct process, will:
- Gain knowledge of their rights and responsibilities within the YHC conduct system
- Identify and articulate why their behavior violates the Student Code of Conduct
- Identify alternative attitudes and behaviors to prevent future misconduct
- Encourage others to make decisions that comply with the Standards of Conduct
