Substantive Change Policy

 
Young Harris College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and complies with SACSCOC’s Substantive Change for SACSCOC Accredited Institutions Policy Statement.  As such, Young Harris College reports, and when necessary gains approval for, all substantive changes as required by SACSCOC.

Thank you for your interest in Young Harris College’s institutional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
 
A SACSCOC institution since 1938, Young Harris College most recently earned reaffirmation of its accreditation by SACSCOC in 2011.

Institutional Review Board

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Young Harris College is responsible for the protection of human subjects and to ensure, to the best of its ability, that all research with human participants is conducted in accordance with certain ethical principles. The three major concerns of the IRB are:

  • whether legally informed consent is obtained from research participants;
  • whether the benefits of the research outweigh the risks to the participant; and
  • whether the participants are deceived.
