Can I use the library?

Yes! The Zell & Shirley Miller Library boasts a collection of nearly 100,000 books, over 35 computers and most importantly, a highly-trained staff who are here to help you with your class work and any other questions you might have. Every digital resource the library offers is available to student commuters from home. Zell & Shirley Miller Library page provides access to databases and other resources remotely.


How do I find out about campus events?

For campus-wide events, visit the College's calendar and the YHC Hub. For events specifically for commuter students, visit the Planned Events page. We also invite you to join the YHC Campus Activities Board Facebook group to keep up to date.


How can I meet other students, faculty and staff on campus?

Get involved in student organizations, participate in intramurals, study with classmates and attend events hosted on campus. We encourage you visit the Office of Student Development, located on the second floor of the Pruitt-Barrett Building, and learn more about available programs and events.


Where can I park my car?

Commuter students are permitted to park in the Clegg, Goolsby, Maxwell and Fine Arts Annex lots. Parking passes are available in the YHC Police Department office, located in Manget Hall. All vehicles must be parked clearly within a designated parking space. Designated parking spaces are provided in all parking lots for holders of DMV Disabled license plates or place cards. The parking fee is $200 per year (fall and spring).

Where can I relax and eat between classes?

There are many great places around campus to relax, study and grab other students for some help on your homework. Here are some suggested places:

• Clegg Fine Arts Center

If you forget your lunch, the Grace Rollins Dining Hall is a friendly, comfortable, all-you-care-to-eat location and is the perfect place to catch up with friends. Commuter meal plans are available! You may stop by the dining hall for additional details. Click here for further dining details.


Where can I check my email?

Commuter students may check their email in the 24-hour study computer lab or in the Zell & Shirley Miller Library during scheduled hours. Most YHC buildings boast wireless access allowing students to check email on personal laptops at any time.
