Young Harris College to Present Jazz Band Concert

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Young Harris College’s Division of Fine Arts will present the YHC Jazz Band in concert on Monday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. in Glenn-McGinnis Hall on the YHC campus. The performance is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Adjunct Instructor of Music Dr. Mike Campbell, the YHC Jazz Band will perform a variety of selections from styles including swing, Latin, funk, gospel and ballads. The concert will also feature selections performed during the Glenn Miller Orchestra Concert held on the YHC campus in August.

The YHC Jazz Band is comprised of talented students including sophomore Christian Dasher, of Ludowici, Ga., saxophone, freshman Tyler Kniess, of Blairsville, Ga., saxophone, sophomore David-akem Smith, of Fairburn, Ga., saxophone, senior Jasmine Redding, of Atlanta, saxophone, sophomore Zak Sutton, of Alto, Ga., saxophone, sophomore Jacob Wood, of Lagrange, Ga., trumpet, junior Collin McCane, of Cleveland, Ga., trumpet, freshman Christopher Heden, of Ellijay, Ga., trumpet, freshman Deeana Greene, of Epworth, Ga., trumpet, sophomore Paul Williams, of Ludowici, Ga., trumpet, sophomore Justin Mason, of Fairburn, Ga., trombone, freshman Matthew Minnick, of Maysville, Ga., trombone, sophomore Keegan McCurdy, of Ellijay, Ga., trombone, freshman Colton Pritchett, of Ringgold, Ga., trombone, junior Caitlin Moore, of Lagrange, Ga., rhythm, senior Tricia Gallagher, of Jasper, Ga., rhythm, and freshman Kanani Crandall, of Carlsbad, Calif., rhythm.
