Young Harris College to Present Piano Ensemble Concert

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Division of Fine Arts at Young Harris College is proud to present the Piano Ensemble in concert on Tuesday, March 20, at 7 p.m. in the Glenn~McGinnis Hall on the YHC campus. Admission is $5 for adults, and free for students and children 12 and under.

The ensemble will perform a variety of numbers for piano duets and piano duo music. The evening will include hit songs like George Gershwin’s “I Got Rhythm,” which he transcribed for two pianos from the orchestra score. The concert will also feature fan favorites such as “American in Paris” and “Rhapsody in Blue.”

Under the direction of Instructor of Music Cynthia DeFoor, the Piano Ensemble in comprised of YHC students studying piano including senior music education major Kate Snell, of Elko, Ga., senior music major Ariel Philo, of Blairsville, Ga., junior music major Caitlin Moore, of LaGrange, Ga., and freshman music major Jacob Trotter, of Demorest, Ga.

The concert will also feature sophomore music major Moon Hamilton, of Atlanta, on guitar, and local community pianists Hosanna Sherman and Peyton Barrett.
