Dr. Bashali Ray
Associate Professor of Physics & Physical Geography - Mathematics, Science & Technology
Dr. Bashali Ray joined Young Harris College in 2009, teaching classes in computer science, physical geography, geology, climate physics, ArcGIS, physics, and advanced physics classes. Dr. Ray has extensive experience with online teaching methods using Canvas, Blackboard, and Moodle as well as live sessions with Electa, teams, Blackboard and WebEx. She has been teaching online summer classes for almost 9 years.
Dr. Ray’s research interests include atmospheric physics, thunderstorm generator currents in the global electric circuit, and physics education research. Outside teaching and research, Dr. Ray does her best, along with her husband Dr. Arunava Roy (a subject matter expert in physics) to spend time with their two kids: an 8-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. Between helping with robotics, piano and homework, shuttling to gymnastics, tennis, and swimming, they stay very busy. They also enjoy traveling and dining.
