Dr. Matthew Steven Bruen joined the Young Harris College faculty in 2014. His first book, Keeper of Lost Places, is under contract with Rothco Press, with an expected release date of Spring 2023. Currently, he is authoring essays on such diverse topics as Edward Snowden’s post-whistleblowing career, the forgotten history of slavery in the Northern United States, and the influence of the philosopher Spinoza on the development of early American literature and culture. When he isn’t teaching, writing, or raising his two daughters, Dr. Bruen enjoys fly fishing for trout on the many beautiful streams of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
