Young Harris Early College (Move on When Ready)

Available free of cost to all qualified high school juniors and seniors in the state of Georgia, Young Harris Early College will jump-start your post-high school academic journey! All Young Harris Early College courses are high quality and college-rigor and allow students to obtain high school and transferable college credit. Young Harris Early College is offered free of cost for students through Georgia's Move on When Ready program.

What makes Young Harris Early College different?

Young Harris Early College students have the opportunity to take courses through several free, dynamic deliveries: online, synchronous and on-campus. Plus, participating students receive a FREE tablet to access textbooks and necessary online programs. Those who pass two consecutive Early College courses are eligible to keep the tablet. Two eight-week periods are available each semester to maximize your time and efforts.

Young Harris College offers special scholarships for Young Harris Early College students who enroll as a freshman at YHC. This tiered scholarship is offered based on earned Young Harris Early College credit hours and will be added to other merit-based scholarships earned as a YHC student. 

How do I get started?

Speak with your high school guidance counselor about your interest in Young Harris Early College/Move on When Ready, then contact Admissions Counselor Zach Chamberlin to begin the application process or fill out an application online. Once you have been accepted to the program, one of our MOWR staff members will contact you with next steps including registering for classes. The next online term is scheduled for Aug. 14-Oct. 6, so fill our your application now!
