YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — Young Harris College invites community members to register for the 15th annual Clay Dotson Open on Monday, May 13 at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Georgia. This highly anticipated golf tournament is YHC’s premier fundraising event for student scholarships.

This event is the perfect opportunity to have fun while supporting a great cause. Participants will play one of Georgia’s top courses in one of the state’s most beautiful locations. The morning flight will start at 8 a.m., and the afternoon flight will begin at 2 p.m. Each flight is limited to 112 players.

The cost to play in the tournament is $200 per person or $800 for a team of four. Teams with three or more YHC alumni qualify for the Tom Forkner, Sr. Alumni Challenge and a special discounted rate ($150 per alumnus/alumna player). In the spirit of competition, YHC will award prizes for the low net score in each flight and will offer a putting contest with prizes. Continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments are included in the registration cost, as well as a team photograph.

“To keep the tournament viable, we need younger alumni and younger players to participate each year,” said Dr. Clay Dotson, who served YHC as a history professor, academic dean and interim president. Dr. Dotson also noted that non-golfers and those unable to participate this year can still contribute. “You need not play in the tournament to be an important supporter. Contributions can be made to YHC with a designation for the golf tournament. All support is appreciated.”

Sponsorships, player registrations, mulligans and more are available for purchase at yhc.edu/claydotsonopen through Tuesday, May 7. If you have any questions or need additional information about the tournament, please contact YHC’s Executive Director of Development Mark Dotson at (706) 379-5355 or [email protected].
