YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — Young Harris College is among Georgia’s top-ranked colleges and universities, according to James magazine.
YHC ranks seventh on the list of top private colleges and universities in the state. According to the publication, rankings are based on criteria that include admissions standards, academic and career placement after graduation, and more.
For success rate, YHC ranks 10th of all Georgia colleges. “Improving graduation and retention rates continue to be among the biggest priorities for Georgia schools,” states the report. “These rankings list the colleges and universities that are tops for making sure their students are equipped to graduate and succeed after.”
James magazine is based in Georgia and covers politics, business and news in the Peach State. These rankings and more information on the selection criteria can be found in the magazine’s July/August 2019 issue.
In addition to the James magazine rankings, LendEDU recently recognized YHC for having one of the lowest average student loan debt per borrower figures—not only in Georgia, but in the entire country. This information can be found in LendEDU’s Student Loan Debt by School by State Report. All data in this report was licensed from Peterson’s, which reports its data directly from a voluntary financial aid survey completed by each school.
Specifically, YHC’s average debt per borrower figure for the Class of 2018 was $27,123, which ranked No. 7 in Georgia as one of the lowest and No. 284 in the entire country. Moreover, YHC’s figure ranked No. 120 among all private schools in the U.S.
