Young Harris College Announces Fully In-Person Classes for Fall 2021 Semester
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – On the advice of the Young Harris College Pandemic Recovery Task Force, YHC President Dr. Drew Van Horn has announced that Young Harris College is planning to return to fully in-person classes beginning in the fall 2021 semester.
“Positive cases of COVID-19 continue to fall in our area and among the members of the YHC community,” said Dr. Van Horn. “This, combined with increasing vaccine availability, makes us confident that we will be able to return to fully in-person classes on campus this fall.”
On Thursday, March 25, staff and volunteers from Synergy Health in Hiawassee, Georgia, offered the first of multiple COVID-19 vaccine clinics for students, faculty, staff and community members in the Young Harris College Recreation & Fitness Center. Vaccines were available to all eligible recipients free of charge.
The College will not be requiring students or employees to be vaccinated before returning this fall, unless required to do so by state or federal regulations, but all members of the campus community are strongly encouraged to get the vaccine if they are able to.
“This year has been exhausting for all of us,” said Dr. Van Horn, “but we appear to be turning a corner. I look forward to seeing everyone back in the Enchanted Valley this August.”
