The Bachelor of Arts in Theatrical Design and Production is one of several theatre degrees offered at Young Harris College. The flexible nature of this degree allows students to focus on one area of design, stage management or become a generalist in multiple disciplines within technical theatre.

Bachelor of Arts degrees in the Department of Theatre are all built on the same liberal arts core and are specifically designed to develop working artists, not only with the skills to excel at their art, but also the industry knowledge required to become successful in a very competitive field.

What classes will you take?

  • A diverse set of classes in the liberal arts core
  • Dramatic Literature
  • Major courses including:
    • Stagecraft
    • Theatrical Design Seminars I-III
    • Technical Theatre Seminars I-III

What can you do with a theatrical design and production major?

A degree in Theatrical Design and Production prepares you for a wide range of graduate school and career options, and the vast majority of our majors either attend graduate school or become paid working technicians, stage managers, scenic designers, lighting designers or technical directors within 12 months of graduation. Our department’s placement rate upon graduation is more than five times the average of other institutions’ theatre programs.
