Professional Licensure Information

Young Harris cannot guarantee that the program will lead to licensure in other states because each U.S. state or territory defines its own requirements for licensing and/or certification, and those requirements can change at any time. Students who wish to become certified to teach in another state should review the table below to see if the YHC program meets certification requirements in the state in which you intend to seek licensure and should contact the state’s licensing board to discuss specific licensure questions. Contacts for each state’s licensing board can be found on the NC SARA Teacher Education Directory.

If a student lives in a state where the program does not meet the requirements for licensure of that state or a state where the college cannot determine if the program meets the requirements of that state, the college is not permitted to enroll them, by federal law, unless an attestation is signed that they plan to move to a state upon completion in which the program does meet the requirements.

State-by-State Licensure

YHC’s Teacher Preparation Program DOES fulfill licensure educational requirements for licensure in Georgia and certain states.  Some of these states have reciprocity agreements with Georgia but do also require extra coursework and/or assessments.  Click on the link below for more details.
