Position: Director of Athletics

Summary
Under the direction of the Vice President for Student Engagement and Athletics, is responsible for the organization and implementation of the College’s NCAA Division II athletic programs.
Qualifications
Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or four – ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and administer the institution’s athletic programs.
- Develop and monitor the athletic budget.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection of coaches.
- Supervise and evaluate coaches and support staff; make determination of staff development needs, and make recommendations for hire.
- Oversee the procedures and documentation for ensuring academic eligibility for all athletics in accordance with rules, supervise and sanction the medical and insurance clearance for each student-athlete.
- Oversee and ensure program compliance with all applicable regulations and laws to include the preparation of all documents related to the College’s participation in the sport’s programs at the national, state and local levels.
- Implement and disseminate pertinent information on Conference and NCAA rules and regulations, including compliance with Title V and Title IX regulations.
- Maintain records and files related to individual and team participation.
- Provide orientation and training to coaches and student-athletes.
- Directs preparation and dissemination of publicity to promote athletic events.
- Plans and coordinates activities of coaching staff, including recruitment goals.
- Plans and schedules sports events, and oversees ticket sales and activities. Certifies reports of income produced from ticket sales.
- Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in Baseball, Cross Country, Track, Softball, Basketball, Soccer, Lacrosse, Cheer, Sports Communications and Athletic Training. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also, directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Assist and coordinate fundraising efforts with the Vice President for Advancement.
- Oversee game operations for all home events including NCAA Regional events.
- Collaborate with institutional colleagues to support College priorities, including academic success, retention, prevention of alcohol/drug use and sexual violence and life skills programing.

Assistant Director Athletics Compliance
Position: Asst/Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance
Status: Full-time, 12 months, Administration, Exempt
Summary
Ensure the College is compliant with all NCAA rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Certify on a semester basis the athletic eligibility of all student athletes. Work in conjunction with Financial Aid, Registrar, and Admissions Offices.

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with NCAA Conference and college rules and regulations to recruitment, eligibility, admissions, financial aid, housing and the physical welfare of student athletes. Monitor institutional adherence to these rules and regulations.
Formulate and implement strategies and systems for YHC’s athletics programs and support services to ensure NCAA rules and regulations are followed.
Develop, implement, and monitor a systematic reporting and tracking structure for athletics programs and units in compliance with regulations.
Maintain a detailed and current working knowledge of the eligibility and financial aid certification rules and procedures of the College, Conference, and NCAA.
Monitor recruitment activities for the development and provides guidance to coaches and staff regarding managerial steps for all on-campus recruiting efforts.
Approve all official visits of prospects and monitor related activities.
Directly assist with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes by evaluating the coaches’ recruiting recommendations and assisting them in obtaining the necessary documents for admissions, as necessary.
Provide support data and serve as the department liaison with the Director of Financial Aid and the College Registrar in preparation of reports on student-athletes required by the College, Conference and/or the NCAA.
Coordinate all certification of eligibility and oversee financial aid procedures within the Department, in conjunction with campus certification officials. Through the Academic Coordinator, interface with the Director of Admissions on eligibility status matters.
Coordinate the National Letter of Intent Program for the department.
Conduct compliance rules review seminars for departmental administrators, coaches, and student-athletes. Disseminate new Conference and NCAA legislation and interpretations to coaches and departmental staff. Consult with coaches and other administrative staff regarding program compliance and provide appropriate training opportunities for athletic staff.
Coordinate the summer term and financial aid eligibility programs for the department.
Maintain regular contact with officials from the NCAA and the Conference to obtain current and accurate information regarding regulations and compliance.
Supervise the development and transmittal of all NCAA Squad Lists to the Conference, to include handling all changes and updates.
Aid and assist the members of the institution in any aspect of NCAA compliance.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Position Overview
Young Harris College invites applications for the position of Head Coach of Men’s Lacrosse. This is a full-time position responsible for the leadership, administration, and development of a competitive NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse program. The Head Coach will be committed to the academic success and personal growth of student-athletes while building a program that competes at the highest level of Division II athletics.

- Provide vision and leadership for all aspects of the men’s lacrosse program
- Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes who reflect the values and academic standards of Young Harris College
- Plan and conduct practice sessions, game preparation, and in-game coaching
- Manage program budget, scheduling, and compliance with NCAA and Conference regulations
- Foster a positive, competitive, and student-athlete-centered team culture

Enrollment Marketing & Communications Specialist
Position Summary
The Enrollment Marketing & Communications Specialist develops and executes multi-channel communication strategies that support student recruitment and enrollment. This role manages the full lifecycle of prospective student communications using CRM systems, digital platforms, and targeted messaging to drive engagement and conversion.
The specialist oversees communication workflows, portal content, and admissions-focused social media, ensuring timely, accurate, and brand-aligned messaging. Working closely with Admissions, Financial Aid, and campus partners, this position supports enrollment goals through effective communication, content development, and data-informed decision-making.
This position reports directly to the Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize CRM communication workflows, including automation, segmentation, queries, portal pages, and communication assets to ensure a seamless and personalized student experience.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive communication plans for all stages of the enrollment funnel (inquiry, applicant, admitted, deposited), and recruitment events, ensuring alignment with recruitment goals and key deadlines.
- Oversee and manage the admissions office social media, including content planning, posting, engagement, and performance tracking in alignment with enrollment and brand strategy.
- Develop and manage promotional assets for the enrollment office, including brochures, digital materials, presentations, and recruitment collateral, ensuring consistency with institutional branding.
- Create, edit, and manage engaging, student-centered content across multiple channels, including email, text messaging, landing pages, social media, print materials, and digital campaigns.
- Support the promotion and communication strategy for recruitment events, including campus visits, open houses, and admitted student programs, with pre- and post-event engagement plans.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on communication and campaign performance (open rates, click-through rates, conversions), using data to continuously improve effectiveness and strategy.
- Identify opportunities to enhance prospective student experience through improved communication strategies, personalization, and emerging digital tools.
- Collaborate with key offices around campus to support current student communication efforts in the enrollment process.

Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in enrollment marketing, admissions, higher education, or a related field
- Experience working with a CRM system
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing email, text, and digital communication campaigns
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tones for different audiences (students, families, counselors)
- Experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand, including content planning and performance tracking
- Familiarity with digital marketing strategies, including segmentation, personalization, and basic analytics
- Experience using marketing and design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable communication strategies

The Young Harris College Department of Theatre and Dance invites applications for a full-time tenure tracked Assistant Professor of Theatre who will teach courses in musical theatre and theater as well as direct in the mainstage season. The position is based in the city of Young Harris, which is in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia.
The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree in theatre or a closely related field and be capable of teaching acting courses and directing productions. The ideal applicant will be a creative collaborator with significant professional experience in musical theatre as well as experience in higher education. The ability to teach another specialty is also highly desirable. These possible areas include but are not limited to the following: stage movement, performance for musical theatre, voice and diction, history and literature, audition techniques, applied voice, and stage makeup. Theatre Young Harris is a highly successful program offering three degrees; a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre, a B.A. in Theatre Performance, and a B.A. in Theatrical Design and Production. We maintain between 30-45 majors in these degrees, as well as offering a minor in Theatre, a minor in Dance, and a new B.S. in Arts Administration. For more than a decade, most of our students have attained paid jobs, paid internships, or “paid for” graduate school within 12 months of graduation. As a department we produce 4 mainstage productions per year (two musicals and two dramatic presentations), as well as an additional 4-6 shows in our Second Season and Studio Series.
