My name is Andra Brantley, and I have a passion for student success which begins with recruitment and admissions. I have been a higher education professional for 13 years, and I find that students succeed in the right environment. I have been fortunate in my career most recently with Clark Atlanta University as the Senior Assistant Director of Transfer Student Services and previously with Georgia State University as the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions. As the new Director of Admissions at Young Harris College, I plan to use my leadership experience to build and expand the success culture currently in place.
My name is Kelley Bryson, and my heart bleeds Mountain Lion Purple! I graduated from Young Harris College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies in 2018. I’m a local girl from the next town over, and I commuted to YHC during my time in the Enchanted Valley. I worked in the Admissions Office as a Student Representative, and when I graduated, I joined the team as a staff member. I love serving our students from Union County, Georgia, and students who transfer to YHC, enroll in Early College or enroll in our graduate program.
My name is Myra O’Connor, and I am the Campus Visit Coordinator here at YHC. I am happy to sign you up for a campus visit where you can tour our beautiful campus, sit in on a class that you are interested in, meet a professor from your intended major, and get a glimpse of everything you are looking for in your college experience!
After a four-year stint of studying in the fold of these Appalachian Mountains, it left its mark on me in the most growth-oriented way. Young Harris College not only educated me in a variety of academic spheres, but in this place, I came to understand how I learn. I received my Interdisciplinary Degree in Psychology, Outdoor Leadership and Communications, then realized I couldn’t make myself leave! Between exploring my own passions and the incredibly intentional relationships that have developed during my time here, I have found my home.
As a local from right here in Towns County, Georgia, I have a unique and personal appreciation for the Enchanted Valley! Some of my favorite things to do in the area include tubing on Lake Chatuge, watching the sunset from beautiful Bell Mountain and taking a walk around Meeks Park with friends. What makes Young Harris College so wonderful is the tight-knit community that supports and loves each other so well. YHC has always held a special place in my heart, and it is my joy to share that love with incoming students!
My name is Kelsey Gillette and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. I completed my undergraduate degree in history and English literature at Columbus State University, where I began my career in admissions. I have worked in higher education for five years and my passion for students continues to grow. My connection to the Enchanted Valley and Young Harris College started when my grandmother moved to the area – soon after moving here myself, my heart turned Mountain Lion Purple! I love YHC and I love the community here!
