Theatre Young Harris to Present Mainstage Season Finale The Spitfire Grill

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.— Young Harris College’s Theatre Young Harris will present six performances of “The Spitfire Grill” in Dobbs Theatre located in Goolsby Center on the YHC Campus. Performances are scheduled for Wednesday-Saturday, April 19-22, at 7 p.m. with a matinee performance on Saturday, April 22, at 2 p.m. and a “Pay What You Can Preview” on Tuesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors 65+ or with a YHC ID.

After being released from a five-year sentence for manslaughter, Percy Tolbert travels to the small town of Gilead, Wis., to begin a fresh start. She finds a job at the town’s only restaurant, The Spitfire Grill, that happens to be for sale. With no interest, a plan is developed to raffle it off—which works better than anyone would have thought. This musical triumph is an inspiring celebration of fresh starts and the power of what one person can do.

Directed by YHC Adjunct Instructor of Theatre Bart Hansard, the production features junior theatre majors Sarah McTyre, of Milledgeville, Ga., Hannah Johnson, of Marietta, Ga., Keeley Adkisson, of McDonough, Ga., and Andrew Andersen, of Atlanta, Ga., sophomore theatre major Kevin Rains, of Ellerslie, Ga., freshman theatre major Caitlyn Bambrough, of Cochran, Ga., and freshman business and public policy major Tyler Brown, of Roswell, Ga. Senior theatre major Natalie Andric, of Dawsonville, Ga., serves as the stage manager for the production.

Theatre Young Harris is a performing arts organization of Young Harris College. Each season, the theatre company presents a full lineup of notable productions, including full-length musicals, innovative dramas, classic plays, children’s shows and more. Auditions are open to students, faculty and staff of Young Harris College as well as the community.

Tickets are on sale now through the Young Harris College Box Office located in the Goolsby Center lobby. Box office hours are Monday-Friday, 3-5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online anytime at yhc.edu/tickets.
