YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — The O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium at Young Harris College will host “Explore” on the following Friday nights: Jan. 24, Jan. 31, Feb. 21 and Feb. 28. Each show begins at 8 p.m. The planetarium is housed in the Maxwell Center for Mathematics and Sciences on the YHC campus, which is located at 1 College St., Young Harris, Georgia. Each planetarium show costs $5 for adults, $3 for children and is free for YHC students, faculty and staff.

This show explores the story of humanity’s fascination with the stars—from ancient stargazers to the breakthrough discoveries of scientists like Johannes Kepler. Have you ever wondered how our modern spacecraft can navigate quickly and accurately to Earth orbit and beyond? Kepler’s Laws are fundamental in physics and astronomy and central to modern spaceflight. The show demonstrates how those laws work using simple, easy-to-understand animations and clear explanations.

Planetarium tickets may be purchased in advance at yhc.edu/planetarium. From there, select the link to “Public Shows” for a listing of upcoming show dates and times. Each show date and time links to an Eventbrite page where tickets can be purchased.
