Young Harris College Presents Concert Band Senior Showcase
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Young Harris College Concert Band will present a senior showcase on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 3 p.m. in the Suber Banquet Hall of the Rollins Campus Center on the YHC campus. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under.
Directed by Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands Dr. Mary Land, the YHC Concert Band’s first performance of the season will feature senior music majors Spencer Murray, horn, of Gulfport, Miss., Nolan Walker, trumpet, of Ellijay, Ga., Patricia Gallagher, marimba, of Jasper, Ga., Chloe Cook, oboe, of Blue Ridge, Ga., and Michelle Queen, flute, of Jasper, Ga.
The group will perform a wide range of pieces from notable artists including Reinhold Gliinka, Ney Rosauro, Rimskey-Korsakov, Jean Baptiste Arban and P. Morlacchi.
