Young Harris College Presents Guitar Ensemble Concert
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Young Harris College’s Division of Fine Arts will present the YHC Guitar Ensemble in concert on Tuesday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in Susan B. Harris Chapel on the YHC campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Chair of the Music Department and Associate Professor of Music Richard Knepp, D.M.A, the six-member ensemble will perform several arrangements from scores provided by the Atlanta Guitar Guild including two Appalachian folk songs titled “Hush You Bye” and “The Ash Grove,” as well as an arrangement of “Eleanor Rigby” by the Beatles.
Senior music major Marshall Scoggins of LaFayette, Ga., and sophomore music major Caleb Biddy of Calhoun, Ga., will perform the duet titled “Tango” by Isaac Alebeniz, which they performed during the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet masterclass earlier this month.
In addition to Scoggins and Biddy, the ensemble is comprised of junior business and public policy major Brandon Call of Covington, Ga., freshman English major Alejandro Lemus-Gomez of Young Harris, Ga., freshman music major Joshua Long of Dexter, Ga., and senior music major Sarah Nix of Valdosta, Ga.
