Lake Trahlyta Trail at Vogel State Park
An easy 1-mile loop around the lake.
Helton Creek Falls
An easy 0.2-mile trail to the falls in the Chattahoochee National Forest.
High Shoals Falls
A moderate and popular 2.3 mile trail to the falls in the Chattahoochee National Forest.
Blood Mountain Trail
A difficult 6.1 mile loop up the highest peak on the Georgia portion of the Appalachian Trail.

Lake Chatuge
Just minutes from campus, Lake Chatuge offers boat, jet ski, paddleboard, and kayak rentals plus a beach and swimming area near the Union County Pickleball Courts.
Nantahala River
The Nantahala River is a great first whitewater experience, giving you the option to choose from paddling in a raft—with or without a guide—or paddling an individual inflatable kayak.
Ocoee River
The Ocoee River is a challenging river that requires going with a commercial outfitter in a guided raft. Select from multiple outfitters from March through October.

For Students
Can I bring friends?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring friends or family along for the tour. It’s a great way to share the experience and gather different perspectives. Just let us know how many will be attending at the time that you book.
Can I sit in on a class or meet professors during my visit?
Absolutely! Just be sure to include this on your visit registration form.
Can we tour the dorms?
Yes, you’ll get a chance to tour two freshman residence halls: The Towers and Appleby Center.
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing comfortable shoes for walking around campus and all your questions! A notebook and pen or hand-held device can be helpful for jotting down important information.
What if I'm late?
If you’re running late, please call us to inform the tour guide. We’ll do our best to accommodate you. However, we recommend arriving on time to get the full experience.
What if I need to reschedule?
Just contact us as soon as possible to arrange a new date and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Are tours accessible?
Yes, our tours are designed to be accessible to all visitors. If you have specific needs, please let us know in advance. We’ll ensure that accommodations are made for a comfortable experience.

Where do I park?
There will be reserved parking spots with your name on it in front of Clegg Auditorium.
Where do tours start?
Tours typically start at the admissions office. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in. Our staff will be there to greet you and begin the tour.
Will someone explain financial aid and scholarship opportunities during the visit?
Absolutely!
Are there sessions to learn about housing, dining, or safety on campus?
Yes.
Can we speak with admissions counselors about application requirements?
Yes, admission counselors will be available to answer your questions about admission requirements and anything else.
Are meals available on campus for families who come for the day?
Yes! In fact, families eat free.
For Teachers and Counselors
What’s the ideal group size for a tour?
Both large and small groups can be accommodated. Larger groups may be divided in order to provide a more personalized tour.
Are buses welcome, and is there designated bus parking?
Yes, buses are welcome! There is space by our athletic fields to park, and our admissions staff can arrange to shuttle the bus drivers to and from
their bus.
What does a typical group tour itinerary include (academic overview, campus walk, student Q&A)?
Itineraries are built based on group needs. They typically start with a tour of the campus, with the extra options of climbing the rock wall in the Harp Recreation Center, eating in the dining hall, a show in the Planetarium, and more.
Are there resources for me to share with students after the visit?
If you wish, arrangements can be made for groups to meet with faculty and staff. Just be sure to ask when scheduling your visit, so we can make this possible for you.
How far in advance do we need to book a group tour?
To ensure that there is enough time to arrange your a perfect visit, please contact us at least a month before the date you’d like to visit.
