YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — Young Harris College invites the community to attend upcoming Fine Arts events. Most events will take place on the YHC campus, which is located at 1 College Street, Young Harris, Georgia 30582. Please join us in enjoying the following:

  • On Tuesday, November 1 at 7 p.m., the “Evening with the Young Harris College Bands” concert will be held in Glenn~McGinnis Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
     
  • On Thursday, November 3 at 6 p.m., the Opening Reception for the Austin Watson art exhibit, “INTER-ACT,” will be held in the Campus Gate Art Gallery. The exhibit will be on display weekdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. through Thursday, December 1. Admission is free and open to the public.
     
  • From Wednesday, November 9 – Saturday, November 12, “A Doll’s House” will be held in Dobbs Theatre. The “Pay What You Can Preview” will be Wednesday, November 9 at 7 p.m., and donations will be accepted at the door. There will be evening performances on Thursday, November 10 at 7 p.m. and Friday, November 11 at 7 p.m., and there will be a matinee performance on Saturday, November 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets for these non-preview shows are $10 for general admission and $5 for senior adults or individuals with YHC ID. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the YHC Box Office website. Any remaining tickets can be purchased at the door the night of each show. All performances of “A Doll’s House” are open to the public, but seating is limited.
     
  • On Saturday, November 12 from 8 a.m. – noon, YHC will hold Fine Arts Scholarship Auditions in Glenn~McGinnis Hall. Please call Assistant to the Division of Fine Arts Vicki Henderson at (706) 379-5182 to set up an audition time.
     
  • On Tuesday, November 15 at 7 p.m., Emma Pullium’s (organ) Senior Recital will be held in Glenn~McGinnis Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
     
  • On Friday, November 18 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 19 at 3 p.m., the “Mountain Community Chorus Christmas Concert” will be held at Sharp Memorial First United Methodist Church, which is located on the edge of the YHC campus at 1114 Main Street, Young Harris, GA 30582. Admission is open to the public, and donations will be accepted at the door.
     
  • On Tuesday, November 29 at 7 p.m., Rex DiPietro (trumpet) and Mathew Thompson’s (tuba) Senior Recital will be held in Glenn~McGinnis Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
