Fine arts field experiences, internships, and tours

As a student in the Division of Fine Arts, you’ll be encourages by faculty to take advantage of learning experiences outside the classroom. You may have the opportunity to travel across the United States and worldwide to explore music, theatre, and art in various cultures. Additionally, faculty members can assist you in finding internships as you begin to plan for a career in the fine arts.

Theatre for Young Audiences

The Theatre for Young Audiences at Young Harris College is a children’s theater supported by the Fred F. Register Endowment established by family and friends of Mr. Register. Each year, a production is offered during the fall semester, and elementary school children in the local and surrounding counties of Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee are given the opportunity to view a live performance.

The annual Theatre for Young Audiences production is attended by more than 6,000 children from the southern Appalachian region.

Literary magazine

Artemas literary magazine is created by and for the students of YHC and serves as a vehicle for their creative expression.

Music ensembles

Music students can participate in a variety of ensembles, including: Concert Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Band, Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, and Piano Ensemble.

Also, YHC is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
