Class of 2018

Young Harris College conferred 263 degrees on graduates participating in the College’s Commencement ceremony on May 5 in the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center. The College awarded bachelor’s degrees in art, biology, business and public policy, chemistry, communication studies, creative writing, education, English, environmental science, history, interdisciplinary studies, mathematics, music, music education, outdoor leadership, psychology, religious studies, Spanish and theatre.

  • Maria Puerta, of Cali, Colombia, who accepted a position as a laboratory assistant at Emory University.
  • Kathryn Rittenhouse, of Blairsville, Ga., who accepted a position as an agriculture teacher at Union County Middle School.
  • Julia Falgout, of Decatur, Ga., who accepted a position in global missions and is serving in Warsaw, Poland.
  • Heather Davis, of Winder, Ga., who accepted a position as a training manager with Chick-fil-A.
  • Helon Dobbins, of Milton, Ga., who accepted a paid internship as a legal assistant with Colonial Consulting Group.
  • Georgia Webb, of Demorest, Ga., who will pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Brenau University.
  • Emily Cook, of Brasstown, N.C., who will pursue a Juris Doctorate at Mercer University School of Law.
  • Megan Abercrombie, of Dahlonega, Ga., who was accepted into the psychology program at London South Bank University.
  • Tyler Redmond, of Athens, Ga., who will pursue a Master of Music at the University of Georgia.
  • Austin Tibbetts, of Duluth, Ga., who will pursue a Master of Divinity at Gardner Webb University.
  • Luke Connor, of London, United Kingdom, who will pursue his Master of Business Administration at California Lutheran University.
  • Karly Zacharias, of Hiawassee, Ga., who will pursue a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia.
