Adjunct Professor of Computer Science
Young Harris College invites applications for an adjunct professor of Computer Science position beginning August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will have earned at least a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology(IT), Information Systems(IS), or a related degree. Duties will primarily include teaching CSCI 1100: Introduction to Personal Computing. This is an introductory course that describes how computers are applied to solving problems in our information-oriented society. Included is a study of fundamental hardware, operating systems, networking, computer privacy and security, and the social, economic, and legal impact of information systems. Standard business-based software packages (MS Office) are used by students to solve a variety of problems. This course is required for many of our science majors who use Excel in their coursework and is also an elective for a diverse set of students across campus.

Young Harris College invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track position to begin in January 2027. Duties will primarily include teaching English Composition I and II on online for Young Harris College’s Dual Enrollment program. In this program, high school students take college courses to receive transferable college credits while still earning credit toward high school graduation. The courses are pre-built in Moodle and are 16-weeks long. The instructor is tasked with facilitating the courses, providing prompt, meaningful feedback and communicating frequently with students.
The successful candidate will have earned at least a master’s degree in English and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum. Candidates must be comfortable with technology and experience with Moodle is a plus. Course enrollments are capped at a reasonable size, and instructors are compensated per course.

Young Harris Dual Enrollment is the YHC program whereby high school students take college courses to receive transferable college credits while still earning credit toward high school graduation. The college needs an instructor to teach in-person at the Towns County High School (Hiawassee, Georgia) classroom location.
The successful candidate will have earned at least a Master’s degree in Political Science or closely related field. A strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum is required, as well as a comfort in using technology. Reasonable student enrollment per course and competitive pay (per course). Sample course syllabi will be provided by YHC faculty.

Adjunct Instructor of Theatre
The Young Harris College Department of Theatre invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Theatre for spring 2027. This position’s primary responsibilities will be to teach courses in musical theatre and theatre, and potentially direct in the mainstage season. The college is based in the city of Young Harris, which is in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia.
The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree in theatre or a closely related field and be capable of teaching acting courses and support courses. The ideal applicant will be a creative collaborator with significant professional experience in theatre in addition to experience in higher education. The ability to teach in related areas is also highly desirable. These possible areas include but are not limited to the following: acting, acting for musical theatre, voice and diction, theatre history, and audition techniques. Theatre Young Harris is a highly successful program offering three degrees: a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre, a B.A. in Theatre Performance, and a B.A. in Theatrical Design and Production. The department maintains between 30-45 majors in these degrees, as well as offering a minor in Theatre, a minor in Dance, and a new B.S. in Arts Administration. For more than a decade, most of our students have attained paid jobs, paid internships, or fully-funded graduate school in theatre within 12 months of graduation. As a department we produce 4 mainstage productions per year (two musicals and two plays) as well as an additional 4-6 shows in our Second Season and Studio Series.

Job Title: Instructional Designer
Reports to: Dean of Dual Enrollment & Distance Learning
Summary:
The Instructional Designer, an on-campus and in-person position, leads the design, development, and continuous improvement of classroom, online, and hybrid courses and programs. This position partners closely with faculty to enhance teaching effectiveness through the integration of sound pedagogical practices and instructional technologies that support student engagement and learning outcomes. The position supports institutional goals related to quality assurance, academic integrity, accessibility, and innovation in digital learning
Serving as the primary resource for the institution’s learning management system (LMS), the Instructional Designer provides both strategic oversight and day-to-day support for online course delivery. The role collaborates extensively with academic leadership and the Office of Information Technology to ensure the effective implementation and support of instructional technologies aligned with the college’s academic mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Collaborate with faculty to design, develop, and revise classroom, online, and hybrid course materials, aligning pedagogical objectives with appropriate instructional technologies
· Coordinate the proposal, development, review, and evaluation of online courses, and support decision-making related to online course offerings in collaboration with the Dean of Dual Enrollment & Distance Learning
· Plan and deliver individual and group training for faculty on instructional technologies and effective teaching methodologies, in collaboration with academic leadership
· Serve as the primary resource for faculty on the use of the LMS and other digital tools to support the delivery of course content
· Develop and maintain online training materials and resources to support faculty use of educational technologies
· Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging instructional technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance course design, delivery, and support
· Collaborate with the Office of Information Technology to ensure the reliability, functionality, and effectiveness of the LMS and other instructional systems
Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, or a related field is required.
· Master’s degree is preferred.
· Demonstrated experience designing and developing online, in-person, or hybrid courses within a higher education environment is required.
· Strong knowledge of instructional design frameworks, learning theory, and effective online pedagogy is required.
· Experience applying accessibility standards and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles in digital course design is required.
· Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to consult effectively across disciplines and organizational levels is required.
· Proficiency with learning management systems and related instructional technologies is required. Moodle experience is strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated success partnering with faculty and academic leadership to advance institutional goals for teaching and learning is preferred.
· Familiarity with Quality Matters or other recognized quality assurance frameworks for online learning is preferred.
· Commitment to and experience with ensuring academic integrity through technologies and course design.

The Director will provide comprehensive leadership for the College’s cross country and track and field programs, overseeing all aspects of coaching, recruiting, student-athlete development, team administration, and program advancement.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the cross country and track and field programs, including practice planning, competition preparation, coaching, and student-athlete development.
- Recruit, evaluate, and retain qualified student-athletes who align with the academic and athletic mission of Young Harris College.
- Develop individualized training and development plans that support student-athletes’ athletic growth and competitive success.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented culture built on accountability, respect, sportsmanship, and personal development.
- Promote high academic achievement by establishing appropriate academic expectations and supporting student-athletes through study halls, academic meetings, and other resources.
- Coordinate team logistics, scheduling, travel, competition preparation, equipment, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Conduct and coordinate scouting, film review, performance analysis, and other preparation necessary for successful competition.

The Full-Time Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Young Harris College will assist the head coach in all aspects of the program, including on-field coaching, recruiting qualified student-athletes, player development, and team administrative responsibilities.
