Adjunct Instructor of Business and Public Policy (Project Management)
The Division of Professional Studies at Young Harris College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor, non-tenure track, term appointment beginning January 1, 2025. The Department of Business and Public Policy is an interdisciplinary program inspired by former Georgia Governor Zell Miller that trains students to think critically and creatively, in the liberal arts tradition, about the interplay between business and the political process. The department offers majors in Finance and Accounting, Marketing, Management, Business Statistics and Analytics, Business Administration and Law and Public Policy.
The ideal candidate will teach Project Management in the Business and Public Policy Department in the Spring 2025 semester. Strong applicants from all business administration and management fields will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate prior teaching excellence in an undergraduate program.

Assistant Director of Athletics of Sports Communications
The Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Communications reports directly to the Director of Athletics. The primary duty of the AADSC is to serve as liaison between the Athletic Department, opposing schools and the news media. Assures compliance with all NCAA and Conference Carolinas rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ years of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Create and distribute press releases for the Athletics Department.
- Produce statistical reports, nominations, historical archives and other report requirements for the NCAA, Conference Carolinas, opponents, etc.
- Be responsible for contact with radio, newspapers, and television stations concerning the broadcast and advertising of athletic events, interviews, and photo requests.
- Responsible for organizing and staffing live streaming of home events through Conference Carolinas Network
- Responsible for staffing sports information table at home events
- Respond to NCAA requests and reports. Adhere to NCAA procedures and legislation.
- Respond to conference office, conference institutions, and any other institution’s request for pertinent information.
- Maintain up-to-date records on all events and alumni related to Young Harris College Athletics. This would include both past and present athletes and the development of archives.
- Maintain Athletic Department website and work with Sidearm on redesign when needed.
- Ensure professional photography materials for the media and schedule all photography sessions for each sport.
- Work directly with the Young Harris College staff in charge of communications and marketing to develop marketing strategies and implementation.
- Adhere to all NCAA and YHC rules and procedures.
- Aid and assist the members of the institution in any aspect of NCAA compliance.

Assistant Professor of Biology
Young Harris College invites applications for a full-time tenure track assistant professor of Biology position beginning January 1, 2025 (preferred), or August 1, 2025 (optional).
General Description/Primary Purpose
The successful applicant will teach courses in general biology for science majors and non-science majors, introductory environmental science courses, and upper-level courses related to the applicant’s specialty. Applicants with expertise in teaching freshwater biology, physical geography, climate change, soil science, and/or R and R-studio are of particular interest. Applicants are expected to be active scholars who can direct undergraduate students in guided research experiences.
Qualifications

The Campus Visit Coordinator is an essential part of a constructive and collaborative recruitment team which shares the responsibility for meeting the College’s strategic enrollment goals by recruiting students who echo YHC’s mission and values. This position is responsible for the supervision of the Admissions Representatives Team as well as planning, coordinating, and implementing all aspects related to the campus visitation program for individual and group tour requests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the Admissions Representative (student leadership) Team, including recruiting, selecting, and training new Representatives each year
- Create and implement the Admissions Representative training schedule and course materials as well as establishing and maintaining standards of excellence for each Admissions Representative
- Conduct regular leadership meetings with the Admissions Representative Captain(s) to help them guide and support the Representative Team
- Manage the Admissions Representatives’ office hours and tour schedules
- Manage and support the Admissions Suite (Welcome Center), including but not limited to greeting and responding to all visitors, managing incoming calls, updating digital displays, etc.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects related to the campus visitation program for individual and group tour requests as well as large on-campus events such as Open House; creating events and sending information regarding event registration using the Client Relationship Manager (CRM)
- Frequently engage with prospective students and their families in person as well as respond to their inquiries by phone and through email
- Create and manage queries and reports related to campus visits
- Design and implement visitor satisfaction surveys to track information which can be used to improve the campus visit experience
- Manage program budgets, purchases, and process vendor contracts and requests
- Stay abreast of admissions trends and best practices related to the campus visit experience, making program adjustments as needed
- Be an active participant in virtual and in-person professional development and training opportunities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The counselor’s primary role is to assess students’ needs and provide short term counseling and crisis intervention. They will direct clinical services to students for assessment and treatment as appropriate to clinical training and licensure. The counselor will work collaboratively with the Assistant Dean of Campus Life and Student Wellness to provide leadership, needs assessment, strategic planning and outreach for programming and training. They will also serve on the Behavioral Intervention Team and collaborate with other departments to serve the needs of enriching students’ mental health.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include an earned master’s or an advanced degree in Counseling or Psychology from an accredited institution of higher education. Applicant must be licensed in the state of Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or be an Associate Professional Counselor (ALPC) eligible for licensure in the state of Georgia within one year of being hired. Prior experience in a college or university counseling center setting is preferred.

The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach will direct and oversee all coaching duties of the women’s volleyball program, coordinating all aspects of recruitment, scheduling, training, academics and budget management.

Kinesiology Faculty (Tenure Track / Rank Negotiable)
Young Harris College invites applicants for a full-time faculty member in Kinesiology that serves as Program Coordinator for the new Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. This is a 10-month full-time tenure-track faculty appointment. The successful candidate will serve as a dynamic and innovative educator with a strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts curriculum. Program visioning, strategic planning, and leadership through strong written and oral communications skills are essential. Key Responsibilities
- Teach both Fall and Spring semesters in undergraduate level courses for Kinesiology majors. Classes within the curriculum include: Introduction to Kinesiology, Personal Training Concepts, Care & Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Nutrition for Physical Performance, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Testing & Prescription, Motor Learning & Behavior, and Biomechanics of Sports.

Senior Financial Aid Counselor-Hybrid
The primary function of the Senior Financial Aid Counselor is to guide prospective and currently enrolled students and their families through the financial aid process.
Essential Functions:
- Counsel students and families on financial aid eligibility, application procedures, and various financial aid programs
- Respond to student inquiries in person, by phone, and by email
- Maintain current knowledge of federal Title IV regulations, state rules, and institutional policiespertaining to financial aid
