Assistant Director of Athletics – External Operations

The Assistant Director of Athletics – External Operations is responsible for providing strategic vision for all external operations in the athletic department. This includes relationship building, selling corporate sponsorships, and Mountain Lion Club Memberships and Ticket sales. Additional responsibilities include developing Athletics Department marketing and brand strategy initiatives, social/digital media and arranging special events.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have possession of, or ability to obtain a valid Georgia Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Sell and coordinate Mountain Lion Club Memberships and Basketball ticket sales, discount cards, sponsorships at all athletic facilities, solicit donations for hospitality room restaurant vendors.
  • Organize all Mountain Lion Club events and special events for basketball games (Education Day, Recreation Day, Chamber Events, Dance Groups, any special groups).
  • Develop, organize and implement all athletics and sports specific marketing plans for 21 varsity sports programs.
  • Collaborate on campus activities in partnership with campus entities, including Homecoming committee, alumni relations, etc.
  • Develop athletics planning calendar that outlines annual/seasonal promotions and events surrounding contests with ticketing, corporate sponsorship, and sports communications staff
  • Communicate and work with coaches regarding marketing plans
  • Execute game day marketing and promotions for all sport programs
  • Schedule outside groups for halftime and intermission activities
  • Develop and implement athletics department brand strategy
  • Work closely with Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Communications on social/digital media strategies

Other

  • Maintaining a positive and cooperative working environment with all coaches and staff
  • Maintaining good working relationships between the Athletic Department and other functions of the College.

Assistant to the Office of Academic Affairs

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), the Assistant oversees the day-to-day operations of the Office of Academic Affairs and serves as the primary point of contact.

This position plays a central role in coordinating communication, calendars, data systems, and events; supporting academic governance and faculty evaluation processes; managing budgets and expense reporting; and assisting with professional development initiatives. The Assistant works closely with faculty, staff, students, and external constituencies, and is responsible for ensuring efficient, accurate, and professional administration of academic policies, and programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as the initial point of contact for the Office of Academic Affairs, working with all students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors seeking to call, email, meet, or otherwise communicate with members of the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Manages communications from the Office of Academic Affairs to all internal and external constituencies, including communications on behalf of the VPAA as directed.
  • Serves as a trusted administrative communicator, conveying information accurately and diplomatically while maintaining confidentiality and institutional integrity.
  • Reviews and approves/rejects expense reports for all users of credit and/or declining balance cards who report to the VPAA.

Assistant Professor of Law

Position Summary

Young Harris College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Law, beginning August 1, 2026. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar with the ability to teach a range of foundational and upper-level law courses. The ideal candidate must be able to teach Business Law, Estate Planning, and Employment Law. The ability to also teach Introduction to the American Legal System and Constitutional Law is preferred. Additionally, the new hire will be instrumental in shaping the future of Young Harris’s legal studies programs.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or an equivalent degree (such as a Ph.D.) in a related field. Candidates should have a passion for teaching, a record of or potential for scholarly distinction, and a commitment to service.

Assistant Professor of Physical Sciences (tenure track)

Assistant Vice President for Professional Readiness and Experiential Programs

Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach

Young Harris College, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Conference Carolinas , is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach. This position will work to support and reinforce the vision of the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach in all areas of the program including recruiting, coordinating team travel, monitoring academics, facilitating the execution of practice and game plans, fundraising and student-athlete development. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to both the institutional mission of Young Harris College and the academic success of student-athletes. This full-time position will report to the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach and the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred. 3-5 years of coaching experience or collegiate playing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in recruiting student athletes, ensuring compliance with Young Harris College policy and NCAA Division II regulations, including eligibility verification, visit planning, and maintaining current knowledge of all institutional and NCAA rules.
  • The Assistant Coach will assist with organizing practices, conditioning sessions, analyzing stats and managing equipment and uniforms.
  • The Assistant Coach will promote student athletes’ academic, physical, and emotional well-being through monitoring academic progress, providing mentorship, and minimizing conflicts between athletic and academic responsibilities.
  • Additional responsibilities include financial management, participation in community engagement events with alumni and stakeholders, and performing other duties as assigned to support Athletics Department operations.
  • The position involves travel for recruiting and contests, travel coordination, game preparation, film review and scouting reports.

Work Schedule & Time Commitment

This position requires a flexible work schedule that includes evenings and weekends during both the competitive season and non-traditional segments, as well as throughout the academic year. Responsibilities will extend beyond standard business hours to support practices, competitions, recruiting activities, team travel, camps, and community or departmental events.

Office hours are expected throughout the calendar year, with variations in workload depending on the season, recruiting calendar, and team needs. The Assistant Coach must be able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced collegiate athletics environment while meeting both program and departmental expectations.

Requirements

Demonstrated success in coaching volleyball (high school, club or collegiate level).

Experience and knowledge of university rules and regulations, conference rules and regulations, and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills both oral and written.

Highly organized with superior work ethic and ability to manage a wide variety of tasks in a positive, efficient and effective manner in a fast-paced organization.

High ethical standards and ability to work with diverse faculty, staff, students and other public populations.

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Must be willing to obtain CPR, AED and/or other certifications as needed.
